I am a graduate student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I received a B.F.A. in Drawing from UT in May of 2008 and I am currently working on completing an M.S. in Teacher Education with a concentration in Art Education. My yearlong internship placement is South Doyle Middle School teaching sixth, seventh and eighth grade students.

I am excited about my future career in art education because I believe art is an important and special subject. Art welcomes students of all backgrounds and abilities. Students can express themselves with little to no verbal communication. Art allows other possibilities through its interdisciplinary opportunities.

I also enjoy hiking, reading, cooking, trying new things and meeting new people.
